Multi-Axis CNC Lathes and Horizontal & Vertical Mills in Southwest Iowa

For OEMs, heavy equipment manufacturers, and structural fabricators across the Midwest.

Red Oak Fabrication runs a full machine shop with 11 CNC machining centers on the floor — horizontal and vertical mills paired with live-tooling CNC lathes. We cut raw bar stock, heavy castings, weldments, and plastics like UHMW. Some jobs are long bar-fed production runs; others are single heavy parts. We do both, start to finish, under one roof.

Machine Shop Equipment & Capabilities

Our shop handles small turned shafts and heavy multi-sided weldments alike. We offer several machining processes to manage productivity and quality control of the CNC machined parts we make.

CNC Turning Machines

CNC-machined steel rings with drilled and tapped holes lined up on a shop bench

Our CNC turning services run on two 4-foot bar-fed CNC lathes. Each one is built to finish a part in a single cycle.

Y-axis live tooling
We drill off center, cut keyways, and mill flats right on the lathe. No second setup is needed.
Sub-spindle back-working
The lathe hands the part to a second spindle. It then faces, chamfers, and drills the back side in the same cycle.
4-foot bar feed
Round, hex, and square bar feed in on their own. Long runs go all day with little operator input.

CNC Milling Machines

We run seven mills in all — five vertical and two horizontal. We match your part size and volume to the right spindle.

Haas VF-10
This large CNC milling machine takes big parts. It has long travel and pulls heavy cuts with ease.
Horizontal mills
Our two HMCs use tombstone fixtures. We clamp many parts at once and cut all sides in one cycle.
FlexArm tapping
Two tapping arms handle threads off line. That keeps our spindles cutting chips, not tapping holes.

Machining Alloys & UHMW Engineered Polymers

From structural steel to wear-resistant plastics, our tooling and feeds/speeds are calibrated for optimal chip evacuation and surface finish:

Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metals
Precision turning and milling of carbon steel, tough alloy steel, corrosion-resistant stainless, and structural aluminum.
UHMW & Polymer Machining
Specialized work holding, sharp positive-rake tooling, and temperature-controlled cutting parameters prevent material distortion and burrs when machining UHMW guide rails, bushings, and wear pads.
